The Green Plague is a third-person, hack-and-slash game that answers the question, "What if the Bubonic Plague and a Zombie Outbreak were one and the same?" While only a short portion of the concept, the player takes control of a knight and is tasked with finding the royal family and escorting them to safety. In the meantime, waves of zombies walk around the level and seek out the player and the family. The player can either fail to find the family members, find and fail to protect them, or deliver them to their destinations safely before having to conquer a level boss to finish the round.  This stage represents what would be an early-middle game level, building up the game's story and changing the outcome of the game based on the player's success.

The year is 1347 and you are Royal Family's highest ranked guard. Castle life is typically slow with posh dukes and nobles strutting about the halls. Recently though, a hushed concern growing within the castle walls; the townsfolk are rapidly growing ill with a plague that causes a horrible stench and swelling all around the body. Healers and clerics scramble to tend to the sick but more and more become infected. Rumor is that the newest cases come with strange bites and scratches, others are mutilated beyond identification, and those that were thought to have succumbed to the illness are walking among the sick.
